Stewardship

Green Valleys works to bring about positive changes in our watersheds, and we work to mitigate negative changes.

As advocates for our watersheds, we work with local municipal governments in several ways.  GVWA initiated a new Northern Chester County Environmental Advisory Committees–EACs–to gather together local EACs.  We work with local municipalities to improve watershed protections and reduce the impacts of land developments.

GVWA works with a broad range of partners in the region in several ways.  We support each others programs, and work together in critical issues as they arise.
We work with farmers and equestrians to fund and install best management practices.

In partnership with willing landowners, we are planting streamside buffers to create future forested stream corridors.

We support and organize stream and road clean ups–to keep trash and plastics out of our streams and to keep our watersheds healthy.

Riparian Buffers

Green Valleys’ water quality data that was collected from 2014 through 2023 has been organized into an online application. We have developed a unique indexing process to organize this data, as well as other data available through the Water Quality Portal
